The foot-in-mouth award winner!

Disclaimer- This story is NOT fictional.

The boss had thrown a party for his 3 year old daughter's birthday. On such a wonderful occassion for a sweet little toddler, all the project members were invited.

And there was this guy, always trying to make a good impression; he had his ways of trying his charms to become the centre of attraction. This was the first time he was meeting everyone..So as expected, our guy started his charm act!

Trying to be nice and sweet, he started calling the little baby girl "Tiiiiiina...., look over here"

"Tinnnnaaa Come to meeeeeeee, dont be shyyyyyyyyy" he continued, trying to get her attention "Tinaaaaaaa look what I've got for you...." There was no stopping him "Tina.....I've got a chocolate in my pockettttttt, c'mon c'mon!!..come and get it!!"

Before he could entice "Tina" further with his charm, couple of his friends subtly stopped him; pushed him to the corner and barked "Dammit! what are you upto?? Tina is boss's wife; daughter's name is Leena!!"

Time & Relationship

Relationship..be any of its kind; is difficult to explain-even more so to understand..do physical distances matter? Can it belittle all the time you spent-the fun you had-the pain you shared-the things you did to bring a smile on that face? I never used to think these things matter; but along with age comes experience and now things are more clearer than before-should I say it is all part of growing to be "practical" in life..

Distances do matter..Each day that you spend apart; you are actually spending a part of your life unshared from those who were once close..Slowly-knowingly or unknowingly-the past memories start to erode and the remains get ruffled by the new winds of change..Technologies doesn't help bridge the gap-even though you talk often or write tons of emails; you dont feel the togetherness or the bond that you once shared..

Lucky are the ones; who are blessed with people who still somehow keep up and make you feel special in thier wonderful ways..These are your true mates in life! Thats how I felt when I saw the portrait that one of my very good friend sent me yesterday-recalling the fun times in panchgini around this time last year..It does brighten up your day-doesn't it!

PS- Other way to look at this subject is that your absence should be long enough so that somebody misses you; it shouldn't be so long that somebody finds out that how well they can do without you!!

Another chapter for the history books

Geez! Its my birthday today! Strangely enough, each of my last 5 birthdays have been celebrated at different locations around the globe..Wonder where the next one will be! Too early to think about that though!

The wishes have flooded my scrapbook and inboxes and they always delight me! Cherished talking to the folks who called up-it does make you feel special. The birthday has just got started(it is 2:30AM as I write); the celebrations weren't that great this time around, but there's an entire day to look forward to! I loved the South Park song that was brought up on the occassion. So here it is for the records-

Thanks Ameya for the song! :)

Glass of Water

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management.

He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?" The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it fo
r a day, you will have to call an ambulance. It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

"If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier."

"What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again."

We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.

So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for A moment if you can. Pick it up again later when you have rested...

Rest and relax.

Life is short, enjoy it!!

PS: Not my words, but felt worth sharing!

Skydiving!

Gravity Rocks! I knew that it was important to our existence but never knew that it can be this much fun untill I jumped off that plane-13,000 feet from the ground!

That moment was amazing! I was stunned by the open door view of the beautiful californian terrain from such a height; while the cool gush of wind was already pumping my adrenaline! And then I took the jump! It was nothing like I'd done till then..My vocabulary is insuffient to describe the feeling of that free fall that continued for almost 5000 feet until my parachute opened only to hurl me back further up in the open sky! It was awesome! I guess it barely took 19 seconds for me to shorten the distance from the ground to 8000 feet by this free fall! Felt like a bird flying in the sky!

After the parachute opened, Simon-my instructor-gave me the controls of the parachute for a while and I can say that I can now atleast navigate that thing on my own..As you can see in the pic, the view below was amazing and we came down slowly and landed to end my shortest but the most exciting journey through the sky so far!

I'm already planning for the next adventure-suggestions for that are most welcome!
TIA! :)

How to Irritate People

Here's a lesson for those folks who sometimes feel bored after that lunch hour at workplace..Presenting-the first real life lesson on "How to irritate people"-it is an art in itself and once you have mastered it, you'll enjoy anywhere you go-but can't say the same about the person who'll be at the recieveing end..hehe

Valentine Blues - III

“Look at me!”
“I know how you will feel when I tell you this. But I don’t have any other choice.”
“We cannot carry on like this. We are birds of different kinds. We cannot stick together”
“I know you love me truly. But I don’t. I cannot keep cheating you for ever. I’m sorry!! Don’t ever try to meet me again. Bye”

I framed these words after multiple attempts and rehearsed few times and decided to convey her at the Café.

I fell in love with her on the next micro second I saw her for the first time. I proposed her next week and we started to date the next month onwards. In the next quarter I realized she was not one for me. We had different opinions on everything. We didn’t sync on anything.

When I wanted to go for a movie, she wanted to land on dance floor.
I – Music, She-Movies
I-Temple, She-Shopping
I-Yes, She-No

I was looking for a single occasion when both of our thought process went in sync. But could not find it even once that way. I would not have come to the conclusion of breaking with her if I could find even one, at least one instance. But No. There was none! Pity!

I looked at her in her eyes and cleared my throat.

Bye”

She told these exact words to me.

For the first time, I fell in love with her truly.

PS :: Not my creation, but felt it to be apt for the occassion; hence posted it here! :)
